ABOUT DRAGON TILE SOCIETY

Dragon Tile Society is a student-led mahjong club that teaches kids how to play mahjong while building friendship, confidence, and community connection. Beginning as a fun social group for classmates and friends, we hope to grow into a larger service initiative. Through game nights, beginner lessons, tournaments, and intergenerational events, students develop leadership and communication skills while earning volunteer and community service hours by sharing a game that brings people together across ages and backgrounds.

Gideon B

Gideon is a sixth grader who loves strategy games, lego, robotics, swimming, and volleyball. He co-founded Dragon Tile Society to help introduce friends from across schools and activities. He also believes that kids can build a club that connects generations. Whether he's planning his next move at the mahjong table or solving a math problem, Gideon is always up for a challenge.

Sydney F

Sydney is a sixth grader who started playing Mahjong at the age of 7. She loves sharing her passion for the game with friends and family. When she is not playing mahjong, Sydney shows her competitive nature on the softball field. She has already used Mahjong as a means of raising money for Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer research by hosting a Mahj For a Cause event. As a co-founder of Dragon Tile Society, Sydney looks forward to teaching and competing along with Gideon while giving back to her community.
